I know someone who has been an LPN for several years and is wanting to go back to school to get her RN. I always thought she was an awesome person, so she just had to be an awesome nurse. Well...it recently came to my attention that she is somewhat mentally unstable. I don't know how she treats patients, but I DO know that she verbally and mentally abuses her family (husband and step-children)...and that's just a minute part of her issues. Now I fear for the safety of the patients she cares for. All I can do right now is PRAY because I don't know what else to do!

As you said you don't know how she treats her patients, so in that area there is nothing you can do. If you are comfortable with it you can however be there to support her and encourage her to seek help.

If she is unstable then it will come out while she's in school.
