I plan on taking the Hesi exam tomorrow and have the HESI A Secrets book as a study guide. It has chem, bio and A&P info in it as well but from what I read on the MCCDNP website you only need 75% on math and reading. It doesn't mention anything about the other subjects. Does anyone know if these are the only two subjects I will be tested on? I don't want to waste my time studying on subjects that won't be covered.
Thanks!

Hi Lmarko,
I took my HESI less than a month ago. For MCCDNP I did not have to take CHM, A&P and BIO. You will only have MAT and ENG. But ENG will have 3 parts - comprehensive reading, grammar and vocabulary. If you are very familiar with partially medical vocabulary I would say you need to concentrate on this part. Reading was very easy (and as you can see I am Russian ) so if it was easy for me... everyone else should feel relieved. MAT was easy as well, you will also will have a calculator in case you need one.
In any case good luck!
Oh, btw - if you are planning to apply for Banner program - your score should be 80% on both parts (MAT and ENG), not 75%. Just a thought:smokin:
Thanks,TheRussian, for the info! I'm not freaking out as much now:) I've also heard it's important to study up on conversions so I'm doing that as well.

Our HESI was basically like a mini-NCLEX test but they did not expect us to know Block 4 stuff. Just the stuff we had learned that semester. However there were some questions that were beyond our level, but it was fairly easy to make an educated guess on them. I would study the NCLEX exam books, and also if you have on-line case study modules those are useful, too.
Brush up on proper use of canes and walkers-- I got a question wrong on that.
