This is the first three months of fundamentals... Pharmacology is the month after this. Monday - Friday 8-2 for one month. Then back to the above clinical rotation til school is completed (16 months).
I'm in an A.A.S. program (RN) at a CC and my Spring schedule is going to start off weird with lecture Mon, Tues, and Wed the first week starting Jan 14th, then a test on the following Mon over 6 Orthopedics chapters we have to read before school even starts! Plus, the bookstore doesn't have them yet, "They are ordered, but we don't know when we will get them..."! Then the week of the test we will start Lab on Tuesdays: the first one is a Pass/Fail math quiz and if you fail you are out! Two weeks later my schedule....barring failure, (JK!) will be Mon/Fri lecture 9:00 to Noon, Tues Lab 8:00a to 2:30p and clinicals either Wed or Thurs 8:00a to 2:00p; I'm hoping for Weds. My dh is in a band at our church and they practice on Wed nights; which would make it tough to go to the hospital for pre-planning, since I have three kids at home! We also split the semester between Med/Surg and OB so our lab turns into a clinical 1/2 way through the semester! So,needless to say, a chunk of my break will be spent reading AND reviewing math! But it's okay because I SURVIVED THE 1ST SEMESTER!:biggringi Merry Christmas everybody!
I am in a BSN program and my 2/6 semester looks like this:
Monday:
Foundations 2 9-11
Pharmacology 2 3-5
Tuesday:
Foundations 2 lab 8-10
Health Assessment 12:30-4:20
Wednesday:
Foundations 2 lab 7:30-1:30
Health Assessment lab 3-5
Classes only 3 days a week which is nice, but I'm going to be stressing out those days! There are times so we could spread the classes out to 4 days, but I prefer to get it done with asap. Most of the times our tests all seem to be scheduled together. That is 13 semester hours as well, 6 for foundations, 5 for health assessment, and 2 for pharmacology.
I am in the second year of my BScn and my second term schedule looks like this.
Monday - 1330 - 1720 - Pharmacology lectures and tutorial
Tuesday - 0700 - 1500 - Clinical (Plus time spent picking patients the night before)
Wednesday - No class
Thursday - 1230 - 1520 - PBL
1530 - 1620 - Pharmacology lecture
1900 - 2200 - Elective
Friday - No class but 2 hours of volunteering at the hospital
It's not too bad. I got lucky and got two days off this term.
