Stress can take a toll on the body. It's never good to bring that home with you. What do you do to help relax? A nice hot shower? Shopping? Cooking? Watch The Walking Dead? How about American Horror Story?

I definitely watch The Walking Dead and American Horror Story! Best shows ever. :)
I watch a lot of horror shows and horror movies to relax. There is nothing better than a really good ghost story. I also love getting massages, particularly aromatherapy massages with lavender. Food also helps me relax - I am a huge foodie and I love going to new restaurants I have never been to before and trying something different. I will also confess to loving really good mixed drinks - take me to a bar with signature cocktails any day. I'd rather order some drink I've never tried before off a menu than get a standard margarita or vodka tonic.

Shooting. Rifle, handgun, bow, shotgun whatever. Incredibly relaxing and a personal challenge every time.

I love to get a "two for one" deal with my friends with an activity- shooting targets, yoga, exercising, riding horses, etc.
I also love fixing bikes.

Fishing, particularly grouper fishing. Something about being out on the ocean in a completely foreign environment that recharges my batteries. I love it.

I like to sew---I'm always pinning quick and easy projects on pinterest and whipping them up for friends. I'm doing a cruise in Feb with some girlfriends and so far have made us passport folios, sunglasses cases, lanyards with a pocket to hold our room keys and fun card, messenger bags to hold our cameras, some sunscreen, etc when we're off boat and a few other things.
I also like to crochet and read

"Taking a shower" wasn't the first relaxation technique I thought of when I saw that cartoon....
Lots of things to do to relieve stress. Watching TV, garage sales, lifting weights, long walks in the woods, sudoku puzzles, computer games (I'm addicted to Civilization 5), collecting various things. And, of course, posting on allnurses.com

Watch my shows is defiantly a top choice, but I love my computer and spend hours searching the net. I spend hours on allnurses.com and Facebook playing one game LOL

My jacuzzi tub and I have a very meaningful relationship on days that I work.
I also read and listen to music, enjoy a good cabernet and make love to my husband as stress relievers.

My stress relievers include exercise (especially jogging), listening to instrumental music, taking deep breaths, an occasional glass of wine or mixed alcoholic beverage, and other low-key activities.
Most importantly, it is important to cultivate a life outside the workplace. Thinking about work seven days per week will deplete a person's energy and zap the soul.
