I once had a pt stop breathing in PACU. Awake and paralyzed. Apparently there was a trace of succinylcholine in the manifold that I unknowingly pushed in by giving an IV narcotic. Pt had to be bagged for a few minutes but he did just fine.

The moral of the story is - get rid of the anesthesia manifold. Disconnect and flush your lines.

Awesome, thanks! Ok so to summarize....

If I have 2 infusions running and they join in one line ... the line ahead is running at a COMBINED rate of the two infusions?

So if Lines A and B merge into C.... the rate of C = A+B?
