What is a "Sticky"?

Regular threads (like this one) move down the board as new threads are posted, rising only when someone responds.

A 'sticky' is a thread that sticks - they always stay at the top of a board. Sticky threads are usually informative in nature (eg resource-oriented) and stick so that they're easy to find.
