What does "good nursing" mean to you?

Published

I have been a nurse for almost 3 years now, all in the inpatient acute setting. I am curious to know what other nurses consider "good nursing." Obviously safe care, but what else? When I went to dayshift, I had time management problems. I've gotten better with that and now I am focusing on cleanliness of rooms and getting everyone bathed on my shift. What does good nursing mean to you and how do you make sure it happens?

To me, it's good prioritization and good use of the resources available (however limited they may be).
