What did you put in your storage clipboards??

Ok, to those of you that used storage clipboards for clinicals. :specs: What did you put in them?? It has been a while since I have been in clinicals and I am starting in a couple weeks for my RN. So, I bought the clipboard but what do I put in there that I wouldn't have in my pockets?? (Besides patient info.)Just curious...I'm an organizer...I obsess about these things:eek:

We have to pre-write all our documentation, so I have loose leaf paper inside. I also keep my RN notes inside (small notebook full of very useful facts) and a cheap calculator. I also like to keep about 5 extra ink pens and safety pens. Sometimes I keep a small spiral notebook inside there too. I also like to keep extra alcohol wipes and lubricating jelly in there. We have clinical folders with our sign off sheets inside along with contact #'s for all the clinical staff, etc...I keep that entire folder in there so I always know where to find it.

In my pockets I keep 2 or 3 pens, penlight, scissors and my PDA.

My clinical papers, personal products, paperclips, post it notes, change, extra pens, phone numbers, bleach pen (we wear white, coffee is not white), mints and a couple pieces of loose leaf paper.

The clipboard i have has a calculator on the top of the outside of it.

Permanent marker, highlighter, red pencil, black inkpens, small notepad, "report sheets", clinical paperwork, post-it notes.

Where did you find that??? I looked everywhere for one of those clipboards!!

I saw them at walmart this weekend. Also our school bookstore stocks them.

Whoa...they didn't have them when I was there...I will have to go back tomorrow...now that all the back to school supplies are out.

Paper, pens, my penlight, scissors, alcohol swabs, gum, tampons, important sheets, steth, and car keys and a small pouch of aspirin

Wal-mart. But i had also bought it after school had started.

Hi Mandarella,

I used one with the calculator on top when I was in Home Health. Found it at Staples. You could try there or maybe Office Depot, etc. Since they cater more to office environments, they may have more in stock than Wal-Mart with school supplies right now.

:o I wish we could carry a clipboard. I bought one last year for clinical, but we are not allowed to carry them around. :o
