The agency has a different name in each state -- but it's the agency that licenses and regulates all types of healthcare facilities and services in the state, and is usually a division of the state department of health and human services (or whatever that's called in your state :)). I'm sure you could find out the specific name of CA's agency by visiting the state dept. of health website.

in california, they visit nursing homes to make sure everything is done correctly.. they follow you around when doing medication administration, charting, etc. and they have a meeting after. We all call them "state" but what is their appropriate name? is it department of health? thanks
