Hi all,

i am in the market for a PDA. Please tell me which one you use and why. I have been reearching this and can not find a clear cut answer. Thanks

I have a Tungsten C. It's got a great battery life, a keyboard built onto the PDA (which makes data entry and lookups really fast), and a palm OS which I preferred. You can go to Palm's website (palmone.com) for more info on this and their other brands. Also, you can try searching prior threads on allnurses to read a lot of other opinions as well.

As a first-term student, I use mine primarily for two things at this point: the drug program I loaded onto it (much, much faster than flipping through the book) and the planner... all of my appointments, class schedules & due dates, phone numbers and clinical access codes are in there.

I love it.

Thank you for replying... why do you like Palm Os as opposed to windows. I have read all types of reviews and searched the website... just trying to get some personalized info.

I have a Tungsten T3. I could not have made it through clincals w/o it - nor could my classmates or clinical instructor for that matter! They were ALWAYS borrowing it!

I installed Taber's, Davis Drug Guide and a generic Nursing Care plan program. I'm sure I'll do IV fluids and programs like that once I need them, but for the start, those 3 programs were indispensible!

There is quite a few threads on this site devoted to PDA's. I think a lot of people don't like the Windows one (and this is just from what I read, I have no experience with it at all, since I use PalmOS) because it is just as prone to crashing as Windows is on your computer. I don't know how much software or anything there is for it. Try a search, or go the the General Nursing discussion. I think there is a stickied post on the top about PDA's there.
