What to do between now and my second NCLEX?

Published

I took my first NCLEX exam three days ago and last night I viewed my quick results. In short, I failed. Okay so, I'll take the exam again in 45 days. But here is where the questions begins. I hope you don't mind my bulleting from here on out.

  • When can I start the registration process for the next test? Do I have to wait until I get my official results and my candidate performance report (CPR)? The NCLEX brochure said to contact the BON to obtain the necessaryforms and information to reregister at any time but can I do that before I get my official results?

  • Do you receive the official results and the CPR at the same time? How long did it take for you to receive them?

  • What can I do outside of studying to prepare for a nursing job? I've graduated school in December (the reason there is a four month gap between when I graduated and when I took my first NCLEX was due to reasons out of my control). Right now I have a huge gap in my professional activities because I've been a house wife since graduating. I'm thinking about volunteering at my local hospital but are there anything else that I could be doing? Something to put on my resume for when I go job hunting? It can be paid or unpaid.

  • Is there anything else that you would like to tell me?

I live in Ohio if that helps (I was a student in Maryland).

I think if you go to PearsonVue they should explain how to do the reapplying and everything.

Also, I would definitely recommend volunteering at a hospital maybe 1-2 per week just to make yourself seem you were doing something besides studying [:

GOOD LUCK!
