What is it like living in Pittsburgh?

I've been there once, but it was years ago. I'm really thinking I might want to move there. Any info about anything would be helpful. I've read a lot on websites, but they are all so rosy! Thanks!

I'm from Florida and relocated to Pgh for about 8 years. After the initial adjustment to the city I must say I loved it. It's a place of hard working full cultural mix of people and a city that is well planned. If hardtimes are experienced by any one family there are so many resources in the city provided both by public and private to make sure no one really goes without if they know where to look. I was there when the Tornado hit and came right down my street. We suffered significant damage and people came out of the woodwork to help those who needed it out. Also there is no way anyone can get bored with all the activites to do there. My sons were very active in the community centers in sports and major sponsorship by the various sports organizations such as the Pirates, Steelers, and the Penguins make sure there is no way a kid can say there is nothing to do. Rent and housing is much cheaper than any where I have lived!! It's an old steel city and people havent forgotten that as far as those who have lived there all thier lives. Yes there is crime and gangs as much as any where else but for the most part is a good place to live.
