What about your license when you travel?

Published

Some of you familiar with California and Excelsior College know that Excelsior graduates have been locked out of the state. This really bites, because I wanted to eventually work in California a few months out of the year.

Will I still be able to work a few months out of the year in California if I keep my license and address in Tennessee?

I'm so confused about this.

Unless you were in their program before the cut-off date, you will not be able to get a license to work in California. It has nothing to do with where you live or have a license, but that EC is not accepted in CA. So they will not issue you a license. You need to have a California license to be able to work in CA. Your home state license has no bearing on you working in CA.

I'm so bummed out over this...and everywhere I look I keep seeing Excelsior pop-ups, my Excelsior CPNE guide in my bookcase, I am seeing Excelsior everywhere I look...like some kind of thing following me around taunting me...na na na na na...I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone, I can't get away from it!

I think I need to take a break the rest of the evening. I'm scaring myself a little.

I am also pursuing my RN through excelsior...here's my question......after you get your RN through excelsior, is it possible to travel to CA using my LVN license and work as an LVN?
