This depends greatly on the requirements of your province in Canada. In most provinces, becoming a registered nurse requires four years worth of schooling (BSN) and for the licensed practical nurse, two years. It might be best to visit the guidance counselor at your nearby school of nursing to discuss your educational options. Best wishes :)

It depends on the school and the province. I am in an rpn(registered practical nurse) program in Ontario.I didn't have my high school diploma but I got in as a mature student. I had to take gr. 12 chem amd bio because I didn't have them but other than that they didn't ask for anything. It would probably be harder if you are thinking RN.My course is 5 semesters.I would recommend you contact cno.org for more info or the school where you are interested in attending. Good luck.:p

I am in Ontario, will be applying for RN (BSN) as a mature student, however I still have 6 University Prep courses....or grade 13 (if you will). Up until last year in Ontario students could take an extra year of high school (hence gr. 13) and do OAC (Ontario Academic Credits). These were needed if one was going into University. I have Biology Univ., Chemistry Univ., English Univ. and three other Univ. courses of my choosing.

I have checked out websites of other universities and they are all about the same. Some require more math. Where are you from in Ontario??
