What kind of pay are you looking for, and we'll go from there...

Specializes in ER.

I've gone Per Diem at both my jobs, and I'm talking with an agency I previously did some work for. I gave him available dates for a small hospital where I'd like to pick up shifts.

I asked him about pay, he emailed back "What type of pay are you looking for currently and lets go from there".

My goal is to be in control of my own schedule and avoid workplace drama. There are things I like about both my jobs. I want to hedge my bets by adding agency work, and would like to develop a relationship with one or two hospitals.

I make base hourly, Per Diem rate, of $49 at one job, which is a mid sized hospital where I've worked for over 10 years. The other job pays only $38 hourly, but it's more kickback and in a beautiful resort locale.

I want advice. I know I want at least $45 an hour. I'm versatile, can work ER or the floor.

If you want at least $45, ask for $50.
