Hi everyone,

not sure if I'm posting in the right area but was wondering, I'm a Canadian citizen currently living in Australia which is where I completed my R.N Degree, planning on moving back to Toronto and was wondering what kind of job can I apply for / get prior to sitting / passing the CRNE. thanks heaps for your replies

:o)

Specializes in geriatrics.

In order to work an RN in Canada, you need to have passed the CRNE and be licensed in the Province you want to work. You should contact the College of Nurses Ontario for details on the paperwork and dates for the CRNE.

Are you a new grad? If you got a thumbs up from CNO, and they say you're eligible for CRNE-- I don't see why you can't look for a job in TO and get a temp lic.

The problem right now is landing a job. You're competing with RN new grads from 5 different nursing schools just within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Hi,

I will be going to Australia next year to do my Degree in Nursing. It would be amazing if I can ask you to talk a bit more about your experience. I want to do excatly what you're doing. I'm trying to figure out if an Australian Nursing degree is transferable to Canada and what are the chances I'll land a job in Australia post-grad. I want to work in Australia, but I also want to have the choice of going back to Canada. Any reply would be greatly appreciated :)
