My mother! She told me I couldn't live at home with no money coming in and this was the only job that offered accommodation and paid you as well!
You may think I am joking, but I'm not... she filled the forms in, took me to the interview and as I wasn't 18 yet, she also signed the papers for them to take me! She's a good mother though, she knew it was the job for me - just a pity I didn't see it back then...

Having been a nurse of one description or another during my lonnnnnngggg career it all started way back with my grandma who in the 30's and 40s was some kind of midwife [ not qualified ] she was requested to help deliver babies for the sum of 5p . She also helped lay people out for 5p , this was way before the NHS and folks couldn't afford 'proper' health care, anyway she told me such stories that it get me hooked onto thinking I could be a nurse, and so that's how I ended up in this job, one the whole its been a very rewarding job and one I would do all over again given the chance.
thank you english nurse, fonenurse and richards mum for your replies. I had a little chuckle at some replies as made me giggle but thanbks again.
