So I have an interesting thing that happened today.
So I got two students come in the same time, from the same class. They start to tell me that this girl in class started to smoke during class. I was like, smoking what? They weren't sure but they knew it was vaping. One of them had a pounding headache and said her head felt heavy and the other one had red eyes because of direct smoking in his face.
I went to ask the AP who was in charge of the situation and I saw the e-cigs were, blu cigs. What I learned is that another student brought the e-cigs to show off, then the girl decided to smoke it in a class, teacher didn't see or smell anything. She smoked it and then when they transitioned to another class, she smoked it again. This time the teacher in the new class smelled something and called the AP. The AP asked me to check the student who was caught smoking, which I did and she had 137/80, 76 BP and her dilation of her eyes were slower than usual.
I'm not sure what else I can do to help about the situation, but I just wanted to ask what else can be done or what else would you guys have done for this?

Did they make any determination between tobacco, weed weed or anything else? I wouldn't be to concerned clinically if there were not any other signs of impairment. I always take the opportunity to educate about the the many unknown as well as the known risks of vaping. Does your school have a tobacco policy that includes electronic devices and oils?
It was tobacco, I checked. I did explain to the children this but you know 8th grader, being 8th graders, just either ignored me or something. The only ones who did listen to my lecture were the kids who were having I guess side effects of the tobacco.
I don't think we do, but might need to put on in effect after this.
