I have been going to a Hostos comm. college in NYC for awhile doing my pre req's for their ADN program. I soon found out how competitive the program was and how ridiculous they make all the entrance test ( at cuny theirs two! NLN and ATI has to bee passed with ridiculous high scores) and scores so high to make it difficult for people to enter the program. ( seeing they only let in 40 students in the program at a time). I then tried Beth isreal and took NLN for that one, but my scores sucked. my overall score was 109, 69 composite score. ( i suck at math, especially algebra) And there was alot of physics!! I never too a physics class. The NLN practice book wasn't any help, not for me at least. So then I took NLN at Hostos for their LPN program, haven't gotten scores yet, and if I do make it I STILL have to take an ATI for LPN and THEN i get in.. I have taken all my classes. But i am debating going to Mid Manhattan center and starting all over and seeing if i pass the test to get in there? otherwise I give up on my dream as a nurse. With all this time I could have a my bachelors degree in something else. Idk.. I am so frustrated and feel maybe science and math isn't for me. I remember when nursing wasn't this nerve racking to get into. but because the economy, people are going into this like crazy. Any suggestions? I am in nyc and where are the places I could get into less stressful and slightly easier?
