Nurses Career Support

hello everyone, I need advice on what to do next?

I want to become a nurse. After being in college now for six years, changing majors so many times, I now decided to stick to my first plan and pursue nursing. I have been through a lot with family problems and such which have effect me academically (just regarding school), so my grades hasn't been good, and my GPA went from a 3.3 to a 2.5 (and I had to repeat courses and have 2 F's on my transcript). When I decided to purse nursing, I told myself I would move out of my house (which is a bad living situation) and work hard and only concentrate on nursing. I planned to get a job, save money, get an affordable apartment (I had found some) next to a nursing school, just have my schedule be work and school, I had 2yrs of my life planed out. I applied to 3 nursing schools, and I didn't get into any. I am set to graduate this summer with a BA in Biology (I have an Assoicate'd degree in Science). I have no I idea what to do, my plans depended on a nursing school accepting me, now I have no idea how to pursue nursing especially for the fall (2006). I am still planing to move out, b/c the longer I stay where I am, the more it is effecting me. Please help me. Anybody have any advice on how to get on track to nursing by fall? What should I do now to become a nurse?

Have you thought of applying to a technical college to train as an LPN? Once you are an LPN you can try to get into an LPN-RN bridge program. Just a thought.

Thank you. I will start to reasearch that.

Have you tried looking into any accelerated nursing programs. If you have a degree in another major, you can earn a BSN in a 12-18 months.

I will be grad in June with a degree in Businees Administration, and I have an assoicate in science. I will be starting the nursing program on May 8. Check with the local colleges to see if they offer this type of program. Good Luck, I know that you can do.
