Okay so I'm a nursing student and I'll finally be starting nursing classes in the fall. Really can't wait. I've been on this board a couple years now and I think now I'm finally having the "jitters" or whatever you may call it. I usually weave in and out of the different forums on this board and some of the stuff I read about procedures and meds and stuff and it just seems surreal, like can I really do this? It seems like they're speaking a different language.
When you look at it from the outside it seems like the nurses here are of a different breed. I hope I can only be as good in a couple years.

I feel the same way! I start classes in June and I am so excited and yet so freaked out at the same time. Nursing is totally different than anything I've done before. Just thinking about all the things I will be learning makes my head spin. I usually have a minor freak out at the beginning of the semester and then calm down after a couple of weeks. I imagine it will be the same in nursing school.

Seems like I was in your exact shoes about 30 months ago. Honestly it feels like it was last month. I have been going to a ADN program in the midwest and will be graduating in 2 weeks and it feels like it has absolutley flown by! All I can say is that it will feel real soon enough. Find great study habits and stick with them. Be active in all your clinicals this is where you can learn a wealth of knowledge that is unmeasurable.
Good Luck!

Completely natural and it will continue in school a lot as well. LOL
I can't think of one student on the first day that didn't say they were so excited yet scared at the same time. It wasn't until after my Med.Surge clinicals that I started feeling really comfortable in the clinical setting.
