What happens to my CNA certification now?

I feel really depressed and low. I got my CNAS in October. I have a non nursing job,but looking to get into the nursing feel. Well, this home health agency called me yesterday and gave me my first case. I was suppose to go today, my sister promised she would be here to get my niece and an hour pass, she still didn't come and then 30 mins, she told me she was 15 mins away...and she didn't show until an hour later. She never did anything like this and I just feel so depressed and bad, i haven't ever missed work or a job and i couldn't even bring myself to call the angency and explain because they're really strict on their policies and the job was an 1/2 hour away and i was going to be late 2 hours anyway. Looking back now, i should've called that was irresponsible. I explained to my mom and she said they're going to suspend my certification or put a point on their so when i go to jobs in the future they will see it. Is this true? what now?

Sorry you are in this predicament. Why don't you call the agency and explain your situation? Tell them you had a family emergency. I hope next time you now know you need to call job and inform them.

Edit: Oh only the state can suspend your CNA certification.

you will need to review the policy of the agency that provided the certification. In Texas that is DADS, an agency under the Health Department. Check out the website for your state.

PS. You need to find a reliable source of transportation. Buses and cabs for instance. I would rather pay for the cab fare than lose my job

I have transportation, I have a car. I was babysitting for my sister which i do everyday and everyday she was on time. However this particular day she was with her bf and blew me over. It was the firdt time she has done this. I couldn't take my niece to the case with me. I felt terrible. I couldn't even bring myself to call because it was too late and the agency is strict. This hasn't happened to me before.
