Hi everyone,
I'm new to this so please bear with me here. I have a few questions for you guys and gals, but let me first explain where I am at. I am a pre-nursing student at CSN and I have 8 A's, 2 B, 1 B-, 1 C+. I have heard alot about how tough it is to get into the nursing program and how tough the TEAS is, but I recently read a couple of posts from others and some said they got in with 2.75 and barely 12 points. Is that true, because hopefully by the end I will have 28-30 points and that too if I score a 91 or higher on the teas otherwise it will be around a 28. Is it ok to have a C+? Please help me out I'm really freaking about this because at the end I may only have like a 3.4 or 3.6 is that even acceptable?

Well in my school C's are not acceptable in science courses!!! Plus they give points if you passed the class the first time around, in other words for not repeating, also there is no point for Microbiology. Your grades seem pretty good though you have nothing to worry about just make sure you pass that TEAS exam!!! Good-luck....

My school would accept Cs but you'd only get one point for them....which doesn't give a lot of help when competing against applicants with As and Bs and subsequently more points.
Since schools vary, I'd ask someone in admissions or the nursing department at your school to see what your chances are.
Best of luck.

My schools point system you get points for the nonscience prereqs I think like 10 if have a 4.0 in all but the science prereqs if you have As in all you'd get 40 points. I have 2 bs so far but counting on an A in micro (laws). But even with that my science gpa not that great I think like 20something. My counselor told me that the avrg point rank that get into the program starts at like 69 I'd need about 85 on my teas after adding up all my points. You do get extra points for like volunteering, having cna etc but it's literally only a few. So I am freaking out. Depending on what classes you got the c I. Makes a diff. If it was in a science, at my schools system you'd have to bank on like a near perfect teas plus many extra points, or getting picked for the lottery (there's like 5 lottery spots). But every school is dif. You'll get somewhere : ) we are in the same boat. These 4.0 ppl are depressing me haha.
I know, it's nerve wrecking. I am honestly very stressed out because of this.
That's the same for our college they will accept the C but only give you a point if you have a C+.
P.S. thank you and the same goes for you.

I have 1 C also, but it was in College Algebra. I have all A's so far in all of my sciences. I am very nervous about having a C but I did really well on my entrance exam (95%) and my GPA is a little over 3.7 as of now .. should be in the 3.8's by the time I apply so I'm hoping that one C doesn't affect my chances. (My school doesn't have a point system). One C shouldn't determine whether you're accepted or not but I guess sometimes it can depending on where you are and your competition. For now, you should focus on making as high as possible on your TEAS. Good luck!
Thank you and wow that must be tough for you. I feel the point system is great because you atleast get an idea of what you have to do and up to how many more points you need. Good luck to you too.

I got a B in Anatomy, B in Micro, and a C (I barely passed lolz) in Physio. My school previously accepted based on a lottery system (I think the minimum pre-req GPA requirement was like 2.5 or something, I barely made it LOL). It just recently changed to that point system. I basically lucked IN through the lottery system. Of course those grades was like 3 years ago, I'm ungodly more studious than I was...have to be for nursing haha

I have As but two bs in anatomy and physio. I am gonna have to work my but off for a a in micro. If I had all As in my science prereqs id get 40 points. But if I got sll Bs id get 20 points : l the avg to get into my program is like 69 and up for points. You can get extra points but its mainly from science gpa and teas. Very nerve recking. It all depends on the school and how they distribute their points. Sounds like you'll get in somewhere tho. Good luck!

I heard the teas exam is challenging because is time, but if you are good in English and Math, you will do well.
Best advice I can give is, consult with a school counselor.
