Hi All,
I am newly graduated RN working on a medical floor. I am really enjoying my job but I have issues with time management. I realised that I had issues with my time management coming from a student to an RN. Apparently I am being discussed as lacking good time management. I always leave work on time. Never have to stay back to finish work. I never come in early to get a head start. I always finish all tasks set for the shift. I am struggling to understand where I am going wrong. I thought if I finished all set work on time without going overtime then I must be doing ok. I would love any suggestions and input as to where I can improve. I always start the shift with a timeline of jobs and tick them off as I complete them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou in advance

Is it your supervisors that are saying that you don't have good time mgmt skills? I would suggest that you speak with them and get some detailed info on what they are requesting.
I guess if I was in this position, I would ask these nurses who are discussing me to give me some pointers. Maybe even though you are finishing on time, maybe it is some of the delivery of care they are questioning. Maybe it is absolutely nothing and you are reading into things.
