I'm currently in a medical surgical department for a year now and will start my dream job in L&D in 2 weeks. I wanted to buy a book to help me in my new position. Does anyone have any recommendations on a good L&D book?
Thanks for your help!

Congrats! Just finishing my orientation in LDRP and the info that helped the must wasn't a book. Go to the NCC website and look/print out the tons of free fetal heart monitoring info... etc. Also AWHONN has tons of info. Make sure that you don't buy classes that are part of your orientation! There is a great free NCC fetal heart racing game that I play online to get ready for my certification exam next month. Have fun

What did you study for your EFM exam and how long did you study? Also, was this provided by your workplace or did you do this on your own accord? I start my first nursing job in L and D in two weeks and was looking into studying for it on my own í ½í¸Š
Hey! Go to National Certification Corporation — Home and everything you need for the exam is either free or inexpensive. I'm older so I gave myself a headstart(thank God) before starting work by taking the intro to EFM at Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. I've spent less than $100. Good deal
I also watched a few YouTube videos from accredited nursing schools and hospitals on initial newborn assessments etc...some of them were great
Thank you, I will look at the website. Good luck on your exam. :)

In addition to books, there are lots of good blogs out there, too. These are my favorites:
