Hi. Warm the baby's foot with a warmer and hold him for a couple of minutes (Gravity is your friend). When doing the PKU even a foot dangle of an inch will help.

I'm older so I gave myself a headstart(thank God) before starting work by taking the intro to EFM at Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. I've spent less than $100. Good deal
Congrats! Just finishing my orientation in LDRP and the info that helped the must wasn't a book. Go to the NCC website and look/print out the tons of free fetal heart monitoring info... etc. Also AWHONN has tons of info. Make sure that you don't buy classes that are part of your orientation! There is a great free NCC fetal heart racing game that I play online to get ready for my certification exam next month. Have fun
