What are your future nursing plans??

I am getting ready to start my last semester of nursing school and it has me wondering where I want to end up and where everyone in my class will end up! So what area do you guys want to end up in after school??? Did it change from what you thought you wanted when you started or have you found your niche in nursing school?

For me, It's OB and its always been that way! I'll probably start out on a medsurg floor and hopefully transition quickly.

I've been really interested in cardiology or oncology. They both sound like there's lots to learn and that I could really be helping where I'm needed there.

I start nursing school this coming Monday! I am very nervous because I have talked to several current nursing students and they have said how intense it is,how they never get any sleep,how they cry all the time because its so stressful,etc!!!! I would love to work peds anywhere, if I pass!!! Is there anyone else out there that is as nervous as I am!!!???? :crying2:

yes, Kjstard... I'm as nervous as you are! I've heard the same thing. I'm not starting actual nursing classes till January. I'm finishing up my last pre req's this fall semester.Let me know how it goes for you and what it's really like. Good luck! You can do it!

Specializes in ICU.

I think I would like to specialize in hospice care and then later consider completing a program to be a hospice nurse practitioner.
