What is the fastest respirations you've ever taken in an adult?

Published

The fastest I have ever taken in an elderly resident was 80 breaths per minute. What about you?

Had a patient yesterday at 128 bpm after a syncope and collapse episode.

Critical care unit was called, possible stroke d/t slurred speech and confusion.

I've had a couple of older adults in the 70s, they were all in respiratory failure and all got tubed rather quickly.

Don't know, never bothered to count past 40. Why bother counting any more?

Call a code, RRT, respiratory, the intern... anybody!
