What to do after failing out nursing program?

I know this really ain't nursing related, but please bear with me. Since nursing school didn't work out in my favor, I'm stuck between getting my masters in health administration or getting a DPT (doctorate in physical therapy) For the MHA programs it looks like they accept any bachelor degree background & for the DPT programs I already have all the Pre reqs. Just need to take the GRE for both schools, and do volunteer hours for DPT. I'm stuck between which one I want to pursue. Healthcare administration does sound pretty fascinating

I'd urge caution with an MHA degree if that is going to be your ticket into healthcare (no prior experience as a healthcare manager). This continues to be a "good old boys" network. There are a few, select programs that populate the lion's share of fellowships & subsequent jobs. Simply put, alumni tend to employ graduates from their programs. At the very least, the program should have a very strong fellowship that is well-connected to major hospital systems. Take the time to investigate placement for their fellows & graduates. Otherwise, you could be sorely disappointed.

IMO, that DPT would be a much better choice, especially since we have no idea what is going to happen in healthcare. Major hospital systems are slashing FTEs & 'streamlining' their management ranks (eliminating jobs). It's probably going to get worse as we descend into the chaos of "repealing" everything that has been done in the last 8 years.

Become an epidemiologist with an MPH. Wish I had done that, it fascinating work.
