What factors influenced your decision to apply to certain programs

Just curious as to what were some of the key determining factors that helped each of you decide on which programs to apply to? I only applied to one program, CSUDH's MEPN program (CNL role option), and received my acceptance letter a few weeks ago!!!:yeah:So that's where I will be in fall!

Since it was the only program I applied to, it's obvious that it's the only one I wanted to attend. My reasons: length of time (2 years), location (I'm an angelino, born and raised), clinical sites, NCLEX pass rates, prereqs required (not as many sciences as others, only anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and pathophysiology, plus the usual GEs), and very, very important, COST (a little over $5000/year, plus $1500 for one summer session). So, it met all of my needs.

I want to do neonatal nurse practitioner, so I will do a 1 year post-masters certificate after I have 1-2 years in a level 3 or 4 NICU. Since CNL is a new role, it isn't that developed or used in hospitals as of yet, so utimately, we all start off as entry-level bedside nurses, and I'm more than ok with that, because I want to get as much experience as I can.

But I know many of you applied to several different programs - some I considered and some I knew off the bat were not for me - so I'm interested in hearing why you chose those particular programs (if you don't mind sharing :))!

I am really surprised to see not many people on this board applied to Domiguez's MEPN program this year as the years before (I've been a lurker and following these threads for some time now). Which is interesting!

Anywho, thanks in advance for sharing!
