Which nursing program are you applying for? I know that Maricopa CC's don't have CNA as a pre-requisite for applying. CNA class is where you learn your basic skills to be a nurse. Turning a pt, transporting, making a bed, making an occupied bed, washing your hands (correctly), feeding someone, brushing their teeth, bed baths....the list goes on. It's a lot of information, but the class really isn't difficult. Good luck in it!!

I took class at CAC. PM me your instructor's name, maybe I know the person. It was really easy and the instructor made it totally painless. I had a wonderful woman who taught it on Saturday's. Working in the nursing home was a drag - but you learn what you need to know. No worries - just suck it up and take it. I think the should have left the CNA as a requirement still for the MCCD...

I'm starting the CNA class in a couple of weeks at CAC, and am just wondering what to expect, or if anyone has any good advise. It's my last pre-req before I can apply for the nursing program! Thanks!
