It's basically just a system where you get points for meeting different criteria. Whoever has the most points get in. It's a way to make the admissions decision objective, while still considering multiple factors. My program gave points for GPA, number of co-reqs completed, and HESI score.
The point system at my college goes like this. You get so many points for being a CNA, you get so many points for having health care experience, you get so many points based on each grade, you get a point for taking all pre-reqs at the college you are applying to, you get points based on your GPA. So all the points put you up toward the top or bottom based on all those areas. That is how they pick well rounded students at my school. Good luck.

I have seen that alot of schools have point system & have a certain amount of points needed to get into a nursing program. What exactly is that? My school just goes solely off of GPA.
