My current employer has NO attendance policy, nor policies for anything else for that matter, but that's another thread. One of my fellow co-workers was a no call/no show about 3 weeks ago. This is after she was written up and suspended. Seems like that would've been grounds to fire her, but she's still there.
We had an aide call in said she was sick too bad she announced that her bf was getting out of jal today and she tried to get someone to work for her . She has 6 kids . Of course all our tax money keeps her and all her kids up from free healthcare to her freaking rent . I have 1 child and my hubby just became unemployed so I'm working ft and 2 prn jobs just to make ends meet. Unless I'm deathly sick I'm at work. I've been out ZERO since 2008 and that was due to a stomach virus that I thought would surely be the death of me.

I'm just wondering how other facilities handle attendance isssues. I have no idea what my facilitys current policy is and I have asked for a copy several times with no luck. I think it used to be something lime if you call in x Amy of times in x days/ months you get a writeup or something and at 4 is termination a ncns is supposed to be auto termination and you are supposed to call in 3-4hrs ahead if on 2nd or 3rd and 2hrs for 1st. We recently had a nurse to call in because her cat had kittens a d she didn't call til almost 5 pm after saying shed be late so it left just 2 nurses which was a disaster since we had 2 admits and sent one to the er fir cp/sob. Nothing was said or done by nurse mgmt and the same aides keep calling in one in particular has missed 12 days since November and again nothing done.
