Hey, I just replied to your other post. Yes, I have heard of Alcorn, my sister once attended there and so did other family members and friends. Are you looking for insight into their nursing program? I don't know anyone personally who was in the program but I'm sure my family/friends probably do; if so, I could ask them.
Thanks soo much HouTx. your right its the same education just a different name and muchhh cheaper price.
Eagle 2110 yes i am looking for insight on the program thanks soooo much lol i thought i would never meet anyone else from MS on here! What programs are you trying to get into? Are you starting in 2013?

I applied to Jones Community College and Meridian Community College. I've received an acceptance letter to Jones but still waiting on MCC. I'll be starting this upcoming Spring. And you're right about MS, lol, I think I've started 3 different threads on the MS Programs board and haven't gotten a response to either:crying2:
Hey...I'm in Jackson and I thought about applying to to Alcorn since it is the only HBCU that offers nursing in MS but I would have to move and I'm just not in the position to do so. I have heard the same about their program but if they're accepting new students then their accredidation is still in place so I wouldn't worry. I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks soo much! and awee gee, you sure you don't wanna give it a shot? i was feeling the same until I talked with the admission coordinator that explained all these programs that will help you with money and such after your first semester(wic, hopsitals) so I'm only worried about 1st semester payments.
I applied there. But never heard anything back LOL not a no or a yes. they kept losing my paper work even when I drove it there. I wanted to be there. Then when I ended up working with two of their students from the BSN programs and they couldn't pass their nclex. It was just sad. They had taken it twice and still couldn't pass. But I know two girls in their Adn and they said it was great. One of the girls have an A now and is on the way to third semester. The other girl graduated and went on to get her bachelors thru Mississippi College. I am not sure about it. Some people say it's wonderful. I toured the school and met the instructors. It seemed nice to me. I think it all depends on the person. Because even at hinds my first semester went smooth but some people say it was the most horrible thing they experienced.

well, I will be graduating with a degree in exercise science next august. I was originally going to go to athletic training school but things lined up perfectly for me to follow my first passion, nursing school. So I reapplied to the school I was accepted to last year I'm pretty sure I will be accepted again but I got to thinking and confused myself on applying to other schools. Should I? They require test and all which I'm not afraid of its just the money that gets me for the school, the tests, the books and most importantly tuition. The school I was originally accepted to is the cheapest for a BSN but I never hear success stories or ANY stories on it. Has anyone else ever heard of Alcorn State University?
