Hello! I'm going to be starting Nursing School in one month and have one question...What is it like? Is it challenging because of the time it takes? Or, is it challenging because the subject matter is difficult? Is it more like physics or anatomy and physiology( I thought physics was REALLY tough)? I'm going to be starting the ADN program with all of the preqs done. Please let me know what you thought. I'm so nervous I won't be able to cut it.
:balloons: :balloons: When I was in nursing school it was tough you had old school nursing school teachers that teach one way, they expect for the new way to be that way and not to be taught in clinicals. My advice for you is get all you can out of your instructor learn all you can, and if you are having a rough time please get some help, you will be fine. Lisa :)

I just grad. with my BSN. It was very difficult at first getting use to the courses, they were unlike any other course I had taken in college. But once you get use to the critical thinking type questions it's not so bad. My advise is get to know your classmates very well. they will be your support when your in school and when you enter the real world of nursing. Above all else try to enjoy your time in school, you'll miss it when it's over. :)

Good that you are about to embark the nursing life. Nursing school for me was very interesting and challenging. All the nights of studying, reading, and creating the nursing care plan took a lot of my time. While I was in nursing school, I was also working as an infection control assistant, but the job is very flexible that I can set my own schedule. It will seem very overwhelming but towards the end, you will get used to it and you will get the hang of it. A lot of people are saying that nursing school is very difficult and you will have almost no time for yourself or family. This might be true, but you will have to tell yourself that it will pay off in the end. I graduated, passed my board and now I am a Registered Nurse. Now, I enjoy my nights with my husband and I keep saying... "it was all worth it!, I am done!" for now, who knows, I might go back to school again for more.
Goodluck and I will tell you this, it will come a time that you think you can not make it nomore... it is normal.. but don't give up..... keep studying and keep up with your readings. Also, try to enjoy school!!!!
It is not so much that any one thing is extremely difficult.... the problems and stress is mainly because it it just so time consuming. There is so much piled on you all at the same time that you spend ALL your time on nursing school. Your time will not be your own. Tell family and friends now that while you are in nursing school you will not have any extra time for them, give up TV, drop as many extracurricular activities as possible. Your time will be needed for reading, studying, and preparing for clinicals and nursing school tests. Oh and keep telling yourself it will be worth it (and keep on keeping on until it is over). That is how I am getting through nurisng school. Good Luck.

First of all congradulations to you! My suggestion to you is observe your classmates who are prepared and on time, that just may be a great study partner. Don't be quick to get in big study groups. Remember your teachers are people first your teachers second and they are observing each of you and forming some kind of judgement in the first mth. like we all do. But if you know what your there for you'll get were you want to go good luck
