What are considered hard question books?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hello guys, I am Taking my NCLEX for the third time and i do not want to take it another time, so i am trying my best to do as much questions as possible.

I have seen all around the forums that KAPLAN is harder than Saunders and that Suanders questions are near the passing or below the passing grade questions. I was wondering if some one could tell me what are some hard question review books...

Saunder = EASY

Mosby = ????

Lippincott = ????

Kaplan = HARD

THank you for your help

Hi, based on experience i wud say :

SAUNDERS-is easy but an excellent source to brush up ur concepts.

Kaplan-hard.Perfect example of the real NCLEX questions;For critical thinking skills and analysis type of questions.

LIPPINCOTT,MOSBY-enough for reference.

i think mosby is hard too....

have you tried suzzane's plan?

i think mosby is hard too....

yeah thats what i thought too..but u never know...anywayzz i am doing questions left and right now..focusing mainly on MOSBY, KAPLAN & Lippincott. HOpe that helps me...

No suzzane's plan look a bit overwhelming...I tried the first tip the second time i took the test, but did not help me.I feel that i need more practice in questions wise rather than content wise...

ya, mosby is certainly more inclined towards critical thinking rather than straight knowledge base questions like saunders. but saunders definitely helps you with content.

I know...i have a feeling thats what happend to me last time, i was near passing on everything and i think that i need more critical question practice rather than straight forward content type....

do you have thomson delmar's book by alice stein...... questions are hard in that one, way harder than any other book.... the rationales given are not so good but.... if you combine that with other books i think it should work. also that book is the only one approved by NSNA for nclex preparation. i have 4 books. i randomly combine and practice few from each books every day. if i have trouble then i go back to saunders for reference.

thank u for the reply WAstateRN, i am trying to get a book that she has from barnes and nobles...

Are the questions in Saunders not "real" NCLEX type questions? I just bought the new edition and really like the book. It has a lot of useful information and great advice for how to figure out the correct answers. However, I have been doing the questions first and then reading the chapters to see how much I remember from school. I have done really well so far on the questions. Am I getting a false sense of security here?

We have some type of review coming up in our next/last semester and they will be using Kaplan. I am assuming they are providing us with the Kaplan review book as well. I don't mind having a good book for review but I want a book that has questions that are typical NCLEX questions as well. If Saunders is only easy questions, I'm afraid if I only use it I'll be in trouble come NCLEX test day.

I think that Kaplan and NCSBN site offers the closet to nclex that one can get!

Good Luck!
