I hear that many students end up dropping out/failing the LPN program and that it is typical for class sizes to reduce by the end of the year. My question to anyone who has been through the LPN program but could not/did not finish is: what caused you to drop out, be excused? Family issues? Grades? What would you have done differently?

Majority of those that left my nursing class failed to pass at the required exams even with remediation. i believe one was dropped because they were caught cheating. One failed to show up for clinical and class and was effectively dropped for lack of attendance.

My class started out with 35 students & by the time we graduated last year, we had only 18 left. I noticed that most of the people that left were due to low test grades. You had to pass each exam with at least 75%, if you didn't pass the first time around, you had one last chance to pass a week later but it had to be over 80%. One student didn't return after the first semester because she said she realized the nursing career wasn't right for her.
If you are going to school soon or in school already, make sure to study hard. Don't give up & keep pushing through. :)
