Rate your professors!!!
That's true but if someone is "shopping around" for a nursing program, it would be pretty useful. Also, if there are issues that other students have had with the instructors it's helpful to be aware of that as it could help you to avoid (those issues).

Dreaming about work?
This seems pretty typical especially when you experience a change in schedule such as lessened hours. It happens to me sometimes when I take time off of work, I dream about my clients.. it's not welcome but I do. You'll get through it!

What caused you to fail?
I hear that many students end up dropping out/failing the LPN program and that it is typical for class sizes to reduce by the end of the year. My question to anyone who has been through the LPN program but could not/did not finish is: what caused you to drop out, be excused? Family issues? Grades? What would you have done differently?

Rate your professors!!!
Hi everyone I just want to encourage you all to go to ratemyprofessor.com and search for your profs and rate them. If they are not there you can add them. It's so helpful and it seems not enough reviews are out there for nursing programs.

How did nursing school effect your health?
Sounds like alot of depression and anxiety. Good thing it's a fairly short program...

How did nursing school effect your health?
i have heard repeated accounts of how the stress of nursing school can cause weight gain, and sometimes weight loss. i could see how health would be impacted, given that nursing schools are often compacted into 10-15 short months filled with tons of strict deadlines, loads of new information to take in, and the stress of such new exposure to the responsibilities of nursing. my question then is, how did or is nursing school effecting your health? and what advice do you have to a new student for maintaining a healthy body whilst enduring much stress?

Failed LPN Program
thanks a bunch for your replies. that's helpful to understand what is required to succeed, ie- thorough knowledge of material, finding the right way to study. You guys now have the advantage of knowing yourselves and what kind of study stratagies to use. I think for me, the toughest thing is going to be just biting the bullet and dedicating my time to studying, and not allowing my brain to become lazy/ procrastinate. ! The best of luck to both of you, and keep your eyes on the prize!

Is the LPN program difficult????
this is a common phenomenon. I have witnessed this myself. I think a lot of it accounts for the drive that people have who come from outside of the US to be successful in a country that relatively speaking has a lot of great opportunities for success. Also, in a lot of other countries, memorization is practiced much more and so with something like nursing in which you must memorize and learn a lot of material, it can come more easily than for a lot of US students where memorization is not as greatly stressed in earlier education. I speak coming from both worlds (us and morocco) and have personally experienced and witnessed both sides of this phenomenon.

Shhhh! ---It's all a crock!
I actually would find it soothing and quite relieving to have a "respectfully quiet" atmosphere in such a stressful work environment as nursing.

Tips/tricks on taking blood pressure
Just be sure you practice in a quiet environment, and that your breathing is calm and quiet. Then, just wait for the pronounced first sound and wait for it... and the last sound. Keep practicing, and trust your ears to hear the first and last sound. If you need to do it more than once on a patient person, than so do until your confident of what sounds to listen for. You got this.
