  2. Good luck to you guys... are you nervous and do you have a healthcare background? :)
  3. I Start: September 19, 2011 Where? Mildred Elley in downtown Manhattan :heartbeat:lol2::)
  4. CONGRATS and good luck with everything i will see you on the 19 of September!!! I bought some school supplies already im so eager ... do you have any advice or heads up so far?:redpinkhe
  5. I cried reading this... I'm a crier and thats just something that people will have to deal with... I try to hide my tears though
  6. I start in september and on my paper work they put CMA but they said the CMA portion is for the prerequisites and once i'm done those i can take the TEAS test if i want (and i do because i payed for it with my tuition) and then i'll go directly into LPN if my grades are acceptable enough. They said CMA/prerequesites are 2 semesters long then i go into LPN Depending
  7. Yes Mildred Elley is VERY Expensive. i get full financial aid and tap and my balance is $8,059 which is due before graduation but i got a student loan and i am going to put the money away in my jobs saving account so once im done i will be able to pay it off... im doing it that way just in case something happens god forbid... but THEY ARE BOTH EXPENSIVE but at Mildred Elley you get a Clinical Medical Assistant Cert. Plus LPN and on top of that the credits are transferable to other colleges Apposed to Just getting the certified MA
  8. I'm So excited about school i start September 19 2011. God willing
  9. I've been looking for an LPN school for over a year. I needed this school to be accredited and preferable gave transferable credits. While browsing online i found Mildred Elley but I wasn't sure they were accredited since they are an extension school so I wrote it off and kept searching. I applied to Brooklyn learning center and took the test in january which cost $40, I scored a 96 but somehow was only in the 30th percentile and I needed to be in the top 50th (waste of my damn time and money) it took them 5 months to send my scores by the way. Anyway, discouraged I decided to give CUNY another shot until I decided to go up to MILDRED ELLEY last week, I just went for some information and to make sure what I read on online forums were correct (something I should've done a long time ago but I'm easily talked out of things). I went and I met with Luis an admission advisor who was very nice, he showed me a PowerPoint presentation for the school about the mission an policies. After that he gave me some papers to sign off on which just summed up what he presented me in the PowerPoint. After we discussed financial aid, what I loved is that they have FASFA just as a CUNY school would. Then he told me all the forms I have to bring back. After that we took a tour of the school which is small on one floor and what I noticed while on the tour was how clean the school was the class size is small,no more than 25 students, staff wa friendly and professional. After the tour I took the ENTERANCE test! It wasn't timed and you can use a calculator it was very easy just study your formulas and there was not alot of questions. The test was Reading Comprehension, writing and Math all multiple choice. After he gave me a packet to fill out and bring back so I'll be bringing the rest of my paper work this week I'll keep posting. Tuition: $5,400 per 12 credit Length : 15months What included: MA and LPN If you guys have any questions Im ready.
  10. I actually went there last Wednesday and they said they have been approved to teach LPN but they don't have a curriculum as of yet, and that maybe between October and January they will be ready to start Lpn. They tried to talk me into medical assistant training that cost something close to 20,000 which was outrageous to me. I'll be going to Mildred Elley in September
