Help a nursing student out please! :-)

I know it's a test to see how much fluid is being retained and it's supposed to be

Hello there:

stands for Biliary Manometric Perfusion Test.

:yeah:

I can't find anything online that really explains what it is though.

I'm a little confused by the question as it is presented.

Did you mean BNP?

If you were asking about measuring success after biliary stricture treatment, then the BMPT is explained here:

http://biomed.papers.upol.cz/pdfs/bio/2008/02/18.pdf

If you were asking about BNP, B-type Natriuretic Peptide, an indicator of heart failure (levels under 100 indicate no heart failure) then this may be helpful:

:)

CaGuy:

when you asked the original question, it was to only know what BMPT stood for.

Here are additional references as to what the test DOES:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19219223

As a Nursing student you will be expected to perform research, so learning how to do searches for publications might be a good next step.

Best of luck to you.:)
