I want to buy one to begin preparing for the program. I'm looking for one that explains everything well, and is super user friendly.
Any suggestions?
I looked at one called math for meds but the review on the latest edition wasn't positive.

I was also looking at the bookstore over the weekend. There is a dosage calculations made incredibly easy that cost about $25 , I considered buying that. I want to go on Amazon and see if I can get it better priced.
I was just looking at that too! The one on Amazon was selling for about $30. There are a couple books I saw mentioned before; one is "math for meds" and the other is "stressed out about drug math". The latest edition of "math for meds" did not get a favorable review, so I nixed that one. Not sure about the other.
I may pick up the "dosage calculations made incredibly easy" this weekend and give it a try.
Im not doing anything until Labor day is over and I have my kids back in school. After that I plan on getting on a schedule for studying and looking for a part time job.
I was just looking through my Microbiology of Health and Disease last night and found plenty of reading that I could do in addition to reviewing A&P.

My school uses Calculation of Drug Dosages by Janney and Flahive. It is simple and good. On the recommendation of people here at Allnurses, I bought Dosage Calculations by Pickar for extra practice this summer. I would definitely purchase on older edition at somewhere like half.com. I think I paid a couple dollars for the Pickar one.

Our school uses Pickar's Dosage Calculations book. I really like it. Everything is explained and there are lots of exercises. I bought a new copy and it came with a CD. There are tutorials and quizzes on the CD. When you are doing the quiz and you miss a question 2 times the CD shows you the steps to get the correct answer.

I have been trying to do the "Incredibly Easy" book but I don't like it, they use extra steps IMHO without explaining it well. I have the Math for Nurses pocket guide I carry in my purse. I wanted a little more practice and a very easy to understand book.
