What is the average RN salary for RN in Tacoma

Published

Hi,

My husband and I are moving to the Tacoma area. Can anyone tell me what the average RN wage is for an RN with 1 yr of experience and one with 3 years? THis would really help us make a choice. Thanks

Probably between 22-26/hr not counting shift differential.

Sorry I missed your post on St. Joseph's until today - it is a nice hospital. I have always enjoyed working there as an agency if that helps. It is laid out very nicely with most floors in pod like construction - so your nursing desk is in the middle of a round room and you have 8 or so pt rooms in a horseshoe around the desk. Makes it easy to keep an eye on everyone. There are usually 4 pods to a floor with a big desk and pyxis and such out in the middle of it all.

Hope this helps

Pat

I just got offered about $25.00 per hour (with $4.00 night differential) at St Clare in Lakewood, WA. I have one year experience. They also offer $3000 loan repayment per year, max of 5 years. Also relocation assistance. Anyone worked there at St Clare?

No, I haven't worked at St. Clare, but I did just apply to that hospital the other day. What floor did you get hired onto? What area of nursing is your 1 year experience in? I have 3 years of med/surg experience, so I'm hoping to hear from them. Was your interview in person or by phone? I'm living far away, so if they do call I hope it can be by phone. Thanks for the help.

I have also worked St. Claire's as agency. I enjoyed the med-surg as they used a big team on nights (9 patients, RN, LPN, and PCA). The unit is a long circle with storage and office rooms in the middle so you could be walking a bit and the pyxis used a finger print which often was slow to accept - you often had to clean for each use.

Other than that - the people were nice to work with. Hope you get the job.
