TEAS - An entrance exam analogous to the SAT. It tests subject matter in math, reading, science, and language. Some schools use it as part of the admissions process.
NET - Another entrance exam which as sections covering math, reading, test-taking skills, stress level, social interaction, and learning style.
HESI - Health Education Systems, Inc (HESI) has a variety of tests including entrance exams, specialty exams, and an exit exam which seeks to validate the graduate's knowledge and predict the likelihood of them passing the NCLEX.
ATI - Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) is another company liek HESI that has a variety of tests. In our program we take subject-matter ATI tests as the finals in our classes and then a comprehensive test in order to graduate. The comprehensive test seeks to predict the likelihood of passing the NCLEX.
for most states they are a requirement, maybe not for your state. They are kinda helpful, as they get you in NCLEX test mode
Not state requirements..........school requirements. Individual schools make these decisions. Where I teach we do use the NET (for admission decisions) and the HESI; these are not a requirement for every school in the state.
