What is anatomy and physiology like?

Published

Hello! I want to take A&P this winter but I keep hearing how hard it is and how difficult it is. I took A&P in high school, it is just plain memorization... How is it hard? what makes it so hard? How many words do you need to learn every week and so on. How does the class function!! please help! Thanks

I took it at a community college a couple years ago. Depends on your teacher. I ended up with a D only because I blew one lab test (all the parts of the bone) and my written tests were hell! no matter how hard I studied. I think I wasnt getting the physiology part. It'll be easier if you take chem first. So now I have to take it again in Nursing School. But I still have my book so im going to go through everything again so hopefully this time around it'll require less study time.

Great advice.
thanks!

It's pretty straight forward. It's not hard AT ALL. The reason why people have trouble is because of the loooong hours of studying. That's what's "hard" about it. But if you take out all your time to study then the class is not only fun, but it is also fun. Just enjoy it! Btw physio is more of understanding the process, anatomy is a lot more memorization.

I don't know if my opinion will help, but at my university anatomy and physiology are separate and I got an A in physio over the summer and am currently in anatomy and have like a 97 average and people claim it's "one of the hardest undergrad classes." Just as @HeyYouNotYouYou stated, it's all very straight forward. Anatomy in my opinion is the easiest of the science pre-reqs for nursing. You just need to put the time in to do well and I guarantee you that you will get your A or B. :)
