Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) - Sugar Land ADN Nursing Spring 2020

Hey everyone:

I am back again! I got denied for Spring 2019, so I am reapplying in hopes I get in this time around.

This go 'round, I am applying to TWU, UTH, and possibly HCC. I am looking for more schools I can qualify for. I have finished all my prerequisites, so for now, I am just relaxing (sort of )!

Science GPA- 3.81

TEAS:

Math-100%

Reading- 83%

Science- 80.9%

Oof 6 am rip me lol at least it’s only 2 days out of the week ? and yea! It would be badass to actually know people in class! Me and my friend applied but she didn’t get in ? plus I was from a small town lmao I would drive an hour to go to the Wharton campus everyday so I’m use to driving long distances lol

That really sucks! Initially my friend got in first and I didnt get an email, but that was because my email was misspelled. I have been told to know people to be able to study with and learn off of and it makes nursing school a bit easier.

It’s a good thing you caught the mistake and got accepted ? I don’t know much about the Sugarland campus bc I’ve been going to the Wharton campus this entire time ? but I’ve heard nursing is the top floor right?

If it wasn't for my friend I would've never called, I hate feeling like I am rushing or bothering a process.

I have been to the school only to apply and register but I went to HCC. I believe it is on the 3rd floor because that is where UH nursing is too.

Ahaha figured it out lol nah I don’t think so it’s probably better that you did contact them bc then they wouldn’t have to scramble last minute (on the 18th) to find someone else lol

Hey everyone!

So just curious did anyone else receive a response when you emailed back regarding acceptance?

Although we received an acceptance email I am so anxious (or maybe more excited) to receive the following email to complete this. January is just 2.5 months away ...or so. Seems like so much time but it will fly by once I get the follow up email.

All I got was a “got it, thanks” reply. I really wish more info was given. I have 2 little ones at home and I need to know the schedule, so I can find childcare for them. I’m nervous ?

I got the same response! I think the schedule we can expect or similar was posted here.

I posted the schedule that a current student had and it appears to be pretty similar to previous cohorts. I believe the only times you have to go in earlier than 830 is clinical days which are at 6am. But the first semester I believe there is only 8 clinical days throughout the first semester. I love that we have the Summers off so I can catch up financially. I have 3 kids so not being able to work much makes me a bit nervous.

I just want more info. ?

I also got the “got it thanks” message back lol I thought there was gonna be more to it too ? it’s okay tho we only have to wait 8 more days for a new email ?

Thanks for getting back to me.

I guess I want a definite, this is your schedule type thing and all other information. I don’t want to feel rushed if we need to complete cpr, titers, background checks, etc. also, would like to know what we need to buy for school as well.

I should start looking into childcare now, hope they have openings
