I also just finished stats through WGU and was surprised at how quickly I was able to move through it. I have taken a stats class previously, but to be honest the class was a complete joke. I really cannot tell you a single thing I learned. What I found with this stats class that helped the most was watching the pre-recorded lectures on the modules (cohorts). I did do the course modules and made sure that I scored an 80% or better on each check point test. I also did the work sheets. After I did all of that, as a review I watched the master videos which helped to reinforce the topics. I will be honest, I didn't spend a ton of time on probability. I read through the WGU facebook page that plenty of people never even went over the probability section at all and passed the OA no problem. I didn't want to leave everything to luck, so I made sure I knew modules 10 and 11 pretty well and had some exposure to 12. In the end I scored almost 20 points better on the OA than the PA. I never had to call the math helpline, but I have heard awesome things about them and how nice they are. I think the most important thing is just to go into the class telling yourself you can do it. Positive attitude won't help you pass 100%, but it definitely plays a big role.
Hi guys. I have applied for WGU and I'm already studying statistics. I purchased a stats for dummies book and it really seems overwhelming, even the vocabulary and definitions for statistics. I am brilliant at writing, science, and reading but this statistics thing has me really worried. Any tips on where I could find an actual book for this bec1 course? I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

When are you starting WGU? I wont buy any books for this class until you are enrolled in this class. I heard WGU Statistics is not you typical Statistics class. Im starting April 1st and this is one of classes I need to take.

Hi all, Just wanted to give my tips on passing the WGU statistics class. I just passed my OA, and I started the class last wk. I previously attempted Stats when I attended UTA online but got a D. I have one more task to revise in Biochem, and that will be my 3rd completed class in 3 wks. The way I studied for Stats is as follows:
-Watched all the videos to the modules
-did Acrobatiq checkpoints, which are very similar to the exam
-Printed out and did all of the worksheet problems, which the mentor recommended when I
reached out to her asking for study tips
- know the 5 number spread, standard deviation rule, how to calculate IQR, The different
Sample methods, also know Quantitative vs Categorical variables
- Quizlet also has flashcards and quizzes, but honestly I think the videos and acrobatiq checkpoints prepared me the most.
Hope this helps....
