Hi every one,

I am very excited to start starting in September. I had to complete 31 credits altogether. I have to take statistics and all nursing classes. I would like to know which classes I should take first and which classes are easy to finish. I am planning to finish it in less than an year. any advice?. Thank you.

It depends on the type of program mentor that will be assigned to you.

If you receive a chicken-little program mentor who wants to control everything, you'll likely start with the course that your mentor wants you to start with.

If you receive an open-minded program mentor who allows you to control the speed, pace and direction of your studies, I'd start with C228 (community health). For a variety of reasons you'll want to get this course out of the way.

Your program mentor is a gatekeeper of sorts. Your program mentor decides whether or not to allow you to schedule your tests, accelerate coursework at a faster pace, and so forth. Some mentors are more conservative than others.

Hi commuter,

Thankyou for your replay, can you elaborate on the community health class little more and I thought we the 90 hours clinical at the end of the program.

Hi commuter,

There are two community health courses. There's C228, which is Community Health & Population Nursing. Then there's C229, which is the community health field experience with the 90 hour practicum. It is not a clinical rotation.

You cannot start on C229 (practicum) until you've completed C228 (the didactic), which is my reason for suggesting you complete C228 as one of your first courses.

Thank you for asking this question as I am also starting the RN to BSN cohort Sept 1.
