WGU to Post Master's FNP

Published

Hi,

I know this has somewhat been addressed, but there are some specifics that I'm trying to get from recent personal experience.

If you have completed a WGU Master's degree and then continued onto a post master's online program....

1) Did they accept your "3 Ps courses"? Essentially making the post master's portion strictly core FNP didactic and clinical?

2) If so, what school was it?

Thanks for your feedback!!

I also have been doing research into MSN programs, and I'm interested in WGU because of the cost and ability to finish the program earlier than traditional programs. I spoke with a representative from Azusa Pacific University (Southern California) and they said that the 3 P's will be accepted from any program that is CCNE accredited. WGU has both CCNE and regional accreditation, so I think the issue isn't whether the classes transfer so much as the GPA being a 3.0 due to the pass/fail grading system.

I've noticed that obtaining the MSN doesn't save a lot of time when you compare an MSN to a post-masters certificate, so that is also a reason WGU makes more sense if you want to obtain the MSN first.
