Congrats for getting accepted!!

I was looking into WGU. If you don't mind me asking what were you stats for science prerequisites and teas. I was told it has to be above a 90% and that students who work at the clinical sites get priority? Thanks!

I'm going to be completely honest. My stats were not the best. I was told by several other applicants, including my enrollment counselor that the program I was applying for was very competitive and to aim for an 80% or higher. I disagree with that. My science GPA was a bare minimum (2.57) and I retook the TEAS, scored a 60 the first time and a 70 the next. I was convinced I would not get in with those stats but I did. Don't let others scores deter you from applying. As for clinical sites and priority I'm not quite sure about that. I know in Cali there is priority but SLC I don't know. I work for an HCA affiliate, had a pretty good letter of recommendation, and intent.

I am considering WGU here in the Dallas, Texas area. I have been steadily working towards my BSN since 2013. I am ready to get this show on the road. I am an older student and am worried about several things. I have completed all of my prereqs for the Tarrant County College ADN, but my math score on the HESI was insufficient to be qualified. All of my other scores were in the 90's. The University of Texas at Arlington is great but the list of applicants vs the available seats are at a ridiculous ratio. Therefore, they are turning down students with 4.0 science GPAs and running off of a list of exceptions that make one candidate more apt to get in than another. Texas Christian University is where my heart was but I since my sciences are B's and my HESI math score is low, I won't be accepted there. I would reapply but they only accept students once a year, in the fall. I cannot afford to wait another year. I am 44 and want to graduate, yesterday. I could retake the HESI in 90 days and boost my math score, then reapply to the TCC ADN or apply to WGU and take the TEAS and pray I knock it out of the park. I have a very high GPA otherwise but for some reason, this vetting process seems more challenging than it needs to be. Does anyone else feel that way? I am hesitant to go ahead with WGU because I don't want to get burned. Any advice is much appreciated! Good luck everyone!

I am in the process of getting my prereqs done through Straighterline- A&P 1, 2, Micro and Human growth through the other study website. If I had a 2.5 GPA and passed with a 70 will I get in for the prelicensure program in SLC? I was also told I needed a 80+ on the TEAS. How many people apply and how many are accepted with each cohort?

Okay thank you so much I was feeling as though I wouldn't have a chance my enrollment counselor was really discouraging me not to apply since I didn't score above 90% on my Teas exam

The clinical schedule is 60-72 hours every 3 months, done over 2-3 weeks, starting in the 2nd term. The actual dates wont be known until 1-2 weeks before the clinical window and is generally determined by your assigned clinical coach’s work schedule.
