Westminster University CRNA 2024

Nursing Students SRNA

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone! I didn't see a post for people applying to Westminster's CRNA program for 2024 start, so I figured I would start one. I figured whoever wanted to could share their experience, stats, interview dates, etc.

As for me, I have a little over 3 years experience, 1 year and 8 months in Med/Surg ICU, after that I transitioned to CTICU and have been here for 1 year and 7 months. I have my CCRN and CSC, science GPA is around 3.5, cumulative GPA is around 3.8. I also have been a preceptor and charge nurse in my unit.

Good luck to everyone!! I look forward to chatting with you all!

I applied last year but they never called me. I want to ask them what can I do to make my application more competitive

Have you emailed the program? I had coworker who also didn't get an invite and he reached out with no reply back.

They answered me back and I will tell you that I'm not gonna apply there this year LOL very competitive. My stats are not bad but the average GPA is almost a 4.0. It won't work for me

Awww sorry to hear! It seems they're very GPA-focused and not as focused on a holistic review of each candidate. That is insanely high! Good luck, there is a school out that for you. It's like dating just got to find that one match LOL.

It's OK. Better that I know now and this way I won't even bother applying LOL I'm the ugly one on this dating match because it's taking too long LOL

This post hasn't been updated in a while. I hope you all got in! I'm applying to next year's cohort and looking for any insight into the interview process and what you like about the program if you're currently in it.

Good luck! I will be starting the program in about 2 weeks, so I can't speak to that experience. Everyone I spoke to that attended this program had very positive feedback.
Regarding the application process, I do think they prioritize clinical experience and  academic performance and theyseem to consider LOR's pretty heavily. Overall it was a less holistic process than other interviews I had, (there were no essays or personal insight in the initial application) however, during the interview they did ask questions regarding communication styles, etc. and talked about creating a cohort that would work well together and have the emotional intelligence needed to be good providers. The interview was a mix of EQ and clinical questions and I felt like they were thorough but fair.
My stats:
Overall GPA: 3.8
Science GPA: 3.8
ICU experience: 7 years, mix of CVICU and MICU
Volunteer work for 5(ish) years.
I hope that helps!

Thank you for the breakdown! Funny enough, my stats are very, very similar, even down to years of experience and specialty mix. Were there multiple interview phases? Was it all in-person, or was it virtual? I'm based on the West Coast and planning ahead.
